Kuusankosken Kamarilaulajat (Kuusankoski Chamber Singers) is a choir whose members come from all around the region of Kymenlaakso. Jukka Jokitalo began as a conductor in January 2011. Taina-Maaria Rautasuo conducted the choir from its founding in 1993 until November 2010. The choir's repertoire consists mostly of Finnish music for chamber choir, but performances have also included major sacred works such as the Mozart and Fauré Requiem. The choir has established itself firmly on the cultural scene in its hometown with its innovative programming and its ambitions to become better known in Finland and abroad too. Frequent concerts in Kuusankoski and further afield are an important component in this.
In the spring 2003 the choir recorded Finnish choral music for Finnish Broadcasting Company (YLE). The programme was broadcasted later that spring at Finnish Broadcasting Company at channel YLE Radio 1. In June 2003 the choir participated in an international Chorus Review in Tampere Vocal Music Festival with success. The choir got a golden stamp and the jury selected the choir to perform in the concluding concert of the Chorus Review. The choir has visited Denmark, Norway and Tzech Republic.
